Start with the right instructions
Keep the manufacturer’s care guidance for the exact material and finish. Porcelain surfaces, decorative treatments, grout and adjacent materials can have different cleaning requirements. A product labeled for one surface is not automatically appropriate for the entire installation.
Establish a simple routine
Remove loose dirt before washing. For routine care, follow the manufacturer’s recommended method and detergent guidance. Lea Ceramiche’s care documents, for example, distinguish ordinary cleaning from post-installation cleaning and identify finish-specific considerations.
Test a proposed cleaner in an inconspicuous area and follow its dilution and rinsing instructions. Avoid assuming that stronger chemicals, additional coatings or abrasive tools will improve the result.
Plan the first clean
Post-installation residue should be addressed with the appropriate method for the material, grout and other products used. Ask the installer to provide the cleaning instructions and confirm when the installation is ready for that process. Unresolved residue can make routine care less effective.
Care for the complete installation
Edges, joints, sealants and adjoining finishes are part of the finished space. Inspect them as recommended by the relevant manufacturers and address damage or failed joints through a qualified professional.
