What You Need to Know About Gauged Porcelain Panel Shipping Specifications

When it comes to shipping, the most important aspect is ensuring that your order of gauged porcelain tile panels arrives safely. That is where proper logistics make a difference. Here, we detail information about how we ship the panels, what to expect when receiving the panels, and other relevant details.

Let us know if you have any further questions.

Flat Wooden Cradles

More specifically, we only ship Gauged Porcelain Tile Panels on flat wooden cradles. Each cradle costs $250 and can fit between 18 and 20 panels, depending on the SKU chosen. The cradle measures 55"x114" and is approximately 15" high.

Note: for orders of 6+ panels, the cradle is free of charge.

We will ship your cradled order LTL (Less Than Truckload) from Florida to a local freight terminal within a 30 to 50 mile radius of your project/home location.

Transit time ranges from 5 to 7 days.

Forklift with 8' Extensions

If you are working with a Flooring Contractor that has a business warehouse location equipped with a forklift, we can quote LTL to that location.

Please note that the forklift will require 8' fork extensions to successfully unload the cradle from the truck.

Depending on the request, we try to offer jobsite delivery.

However, more often than not, it will be your responsibility as the customer, with the help of your Flooring Contractor, to arrange for pick up of the cradle from the terminal for transport to the jobsite.

When moving the material from the Freight Forward Terminal or the Flooring Contractor Warehouse to the job site, you will want to use a flatbed truck with a forklift.

This will allow you to safely place the cradle in a secure location at the jobsite and avoid additional handling of the panels.

Also, you won't need the lift extensions at the jobsite because you can load the cradle from the long side with regular forks.

Important Details for Gauged Porcelain Panel Shipments

Nominal Panel Sizes:

Gauged Porcelain Panels are listed with nominal sizes. Please understand that the actual size varies, and we will confirm that information with you on a case-by-case basis. For example, a 48"x109" may actually measure 47¼" x 10½".

This is important because, unlike slabs, which have natural edges that fabricators must trim and finish, panels are rectified. That information may affect how much material you need to order. We will confirm both quantity and pricing, and provide pricing by SF as well as by the panel.

Critical Vehicle Restriction:

You must not use a standard trailer to pick up the cradle. Standard trailers lack a proper suspension system; without one, your order will almost certainly break during transit.

We will work with you to find alternative solutions, with a focus on the ones that work best, create the fewest transportation problems, and keep the panels safe.

A-Frame vs. Flat Wooden Frame:

A-Frames are available at a cost of $450 per frame. This is refundable if returned within 30 days in good condition.

Note that we do not recommend LTL shipments with an A-Frame.

Payment Terms:
Your order must be paid in full before proceeding to the shipment process.

You may pay via wire transfer or ACH payment (at no extra cost to you).
